For someone with little prior background in networking (raises hand... hi!), but a fairly solid capacity for absorbing new material, what would folks recommend as a precursor to studying for and taking the JNCIA? Is it recommended to come at this exam with some prior more generalized certs like Net+ or CCNA to lay a foundation? Or is it doable to jump straight into JNCIA prep, picking up basic networking concepts along the way?
I am well aware that CCNA is the generally recommended industry standard and provides a strong industry-wide foundation in networking fundamentals in addition to the Cisco-specific material. I ask about Juniper because at my current place of employment, we use a lot of Juniper, and their certs are encouraged and incentivized.
